The Ride Magazine Creates a Way for Bike Shops to Make Money, Grow their Market, AND Help the Connecticut Bicycle Coalition

The Northeast U.S. has become one of the biggest and wealthiest bicycle markets in the world. That is due to the hard work of strong clubs, professional retailers, and ambitious promoters.

We at The Ride feel that we’ve made an impact, too. Through a new promotion with the Connecticut Bicycle Coalition, we would like to keep growing your market.

Effective immediately, we’ve created an ‘advertising bank’ for the CBC. Here’s how it works: for every dollar that Connecticut shops spend to carry our magazine, the journal of East Coast Bike Culture, on their newsstands, we’ll match that in free advertising for the CBC. Hence, if 10 shops spend $60 apiece to carry The Ride, we’ll give the CBC up to $600 worth of ads for their fund-raising and awareness-building events. If all 100 Connecticut shops carried The Ride, the CBC could have upwards of $6,000 worth of advertising to promote cycling in your market!

And The Ride helps shops directly in two ways. With a per issue price of just $1.50 for shops, retailers get a 62.5 percent margin on every copy sold. For those copies that aren’t sold, The Ride is a perfect promotional gift to help convert an entry-level customer into a regular customer and passionate cyclist.

Enclosed is a shop subscription form. We urge all retailers to help The Ride support the CBC by ordering a shop subscription today.

The top racing bikes are the top racing bikes for a reason. They don’t suck. And you can find out more about these bikes on reputable sites where real bikers are talking about their real road experiences. At WSOP, you can learn more about the games you need to play in order to afford the bike that Lance Armstrong uses (or you could just steal it like someone tried to do in that one bike tour). With online gaming tips and more, you don’t have to seem like a chump on the road with your BMX bike from junior high.
